I never thought I would spend a milestone Birthday isolated in my apartment on March 20th. I woke up that morning, not knowing how I’d physically, mentally or emotionally feel. I looked around my room and I had so much to be grateful for. There was air in my lungs. I had people who loved me, I had money in my wallet, I had food in my fridge. I was fine. I suddenly didn’t care how my Birthday would be spent. It was also the last day my roommate Joe would be there in the apartment. I would spend the next 4.5 weeks by myself. I walked into his room, he gave me one of his incredible hugs and with his beautiful smile said “Happy Birthday! What do you want to do today?” I told him, “I want to make some art.” With his incredible camerawork, eye and insane editing (@joebachmedia ) - he gifted me this incredible collaboration. The amount of love I have for you and the amount of love you helped put into my vision - this, I will cherish forever. In full disclosure, I wanted to create something of my own because I needed control. I felt so helpless, so sad, confused and scared. But I realized something I did have control over was how I was going to react to that - and how I could possibly help myself and others in my position find some light out of that same dark place. I hope you can find some light today. ⚡️
