"The Woke Desi is a podcast created by and for brown women (and men!). The Woke Desi delves into topics whispered about behind closed doors within brown communities. Topics vary in range from light-hearted social issues like dating and marriage in the desi community with personal stories from the hosts themselves to heavier topics like infertility, LGBTQ community, and abuse told with guests in a story-telling and educational format."
Nehal and Annika only met twice IRL before starting the podcast. Check out their Instagram post from September 23rd to read their story.

System Failure (ft. Ryan Budhu)
"Systemic inequity impacts distinct parts of our community differently, and [Ryan's brother who died in police custody] Ravi’s story is just one facet of a larger narrative. To understand this larger story, South Asians should strive to understand this nation’s history and how our current legal system can perpetuate inequality. In doing so, there will be a greater recognition that the road to equal treatment for all, particularly for communities of color and those suffering in poverty, is intertwined with justice for Black lives."

Did Gabrielle Really Try to Sell One of Clay Aiken's Water Bottles?

Yes. Yes she did. A little backstory: Gabrielle starred as Anita at Olgunquit Playhouse in West Side Story, a month after Clay Aiken starred as the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!
In this episode, Annika reflected on talking to her relatives about politics. She said "we see how much you struggled and we're going to speak for you, and we're going to speak for ourselves. We're gonna make this better for this next generation coming through."
